          20% Time Project Proposal

Name: Tippy Novak
Project Title: Do It Yourself Projects
Project Start Date:
Project Completion Date: End of the Year
Mentor’s Name: Mrs. Browning, My Mom, My sister, Celeigh Albritton
Brief Description: For my project I will be going on Pinterest to look up ideas of crafts to make. These crafts will be easy crafts so that anyone can do them.

Overview of Project Proposal

1) Project Objective:
During this project I will try to accomplish making crafts for myself also other people who would want to learn how to make them too. While doing this project I hope to learn how to be more creative and also to inspire other people to do the same thing as me.

2) Project Rationale:
The reason why I am doing this idea is so that it helps other people who want to make crafts that will be useful to their lives. Other reason why I am doing this project is so that I can become more creative or even other people get the idea of being creative too.  Also, it gives me inspiration to look more towards things that I didn’t know that I could make.

3) Project Steps:
1. Find a do it yourself project off of Pinterest
2. Make a list of all the things that I need to buy and or do for the craft.
3. Go to Hobby Lobby to go and get the material that i need.
4. Collect those materials together
5. Read and make sure I know how to make the object or craft that i am making.
6. Follow the directions that were stated
7. Began to make the craft.
8. Along the way of the experiment take pictures (will be presented in the PowerPoint that i make.
9. Hopefully the craft will be done then i can start to make the power points
10. Include the material need and directions in the PowerPoints that i make
11. Once the PowerPoint is completed post to my blog.

4) Timeline of Activities:
January – over the weekend/ maybe every other weekend try to make one craft, then through the week make a PowerPoint that explains how to make the craft.
Feb. – repeat January’s step until project is done. Throughout the project make the crafts a little more difficult.

5) Available Human and Material Resources:

Hobby Lobby
My Mom
My sister
Target

6) Possible Road Blocks:

Not being able to purchase the ideas or the items goes out of stock at the stores

The craft doesn't turn out how it supposed to be

I won’t have time to make any of my crafts.

7) Research Questions:

So, it turns out this weekend wasn't a good weekend to start my first Do It Yourself project so I'm
aiming more towards this next weekend though.

Weekend Goals

This weekend I'm going to try to finally start my project. I'm not really sure what I want to make for my first craft, so over the weekend, before I go out to buy the materials that I need, I need to decide what I'm going to be making. I'm probably going to go on Pinterset and search for "DIY crafts" And then decide the materials that I need and if I'm going to be able to make it.

Before the new year started I saw this craft, Where you have string/ yarn, a Coke a Cola glass bottle, and some hot glue. You then take the string and began wrapping it around the glass bottle. While you wrap the yarn around the bottle you began to hot glue the yarn, so the yarn stays in place on the bottle. That project seems like a good first project to accomplish, because you don't need more than 3 items to make it, its simple, easy and doesn't seem like it would take that much time, possibly less than 15 minutes. So this might be a craft that I choose to do for my first 20% time project.
